Key to the internal design is the correct
positioning of the communal stairs. Informed by C19 tenement
buildings, the communal stairs are positioned so as to minimise
internal circulation and maximise usable space within each
flat.
Stair wells are continued to roof level
and are fully glazed to maximise natural lighting and therefore
amenity of these areas. Curved walls to landings add visual
interest to both stairs and flats, giving a spatial coherence
to the open plan galley-kitchen, dining and living spaces.
